Enrolment - Auraki/Rumaki
Rumaki/Auraki Enrolment Notice
Kia Ora Parents & Caregivers
After discussion with the Board of Trustees on Thursday 22nd June 2017 we decided that with the unique opportunity we have as a school we would encourage all whanau to enrol their tamariki in either Auraki or Rumaki as these are options we can offer parents & caregivers at Whangamarino School.
Enrolments still have to be managed on numbers of tamariki in Auraki and Rumaki across the school and if needed discussion will take place with the Principal and parents or caregivers. This is to ensure numbers are manageable for our kaiako. I have applied to the Ministry of Education Resourcing for more staffing due to our current roll increase, once confirmed we will be able to employ a new kaiako in Whanau Rumaki.
We offer Te Reo Maori & Programmes throughout the whole school. Rumaki is 81% - 100% Te Reo Maori and Auraki is 31% - 50% Te Reo Maori.
Spread the word whanau ma, Whangamarino School is the place to be, we offer all whanau the opportunity to learn in English/Maori or both, whether you have Te Reo or not.

Ko taku reo taku ohooho, ko taku reo taku mapihi mauria
My language is my awakening, my language is the window to my soul
This is a proverb closely associated with language revitalization, a struggle which is very important in maintaining culture.
